Golden State of Mind: Warriors repulse visiting Clippers, 124-107

San Leandro, California

He could very well be, just got to be, the third Splash Brother.

Andrew Wiggins was steady as a rock and did it his way for 32 minutes that resulted in 31 points (4 rebounds, 2 assists), going 12-for-18 from the field, and 6-for-10 beyond the arc, draining back-to-back treys at key junctures in the third quarter. Wiggins equaled his highest 3-PT output with six in his third consecutive 20-point game.

Steph Curry was lukewarm tonight, yet still managed 22 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists.

Klay Thompson definitely cooled down with 18 points, much less than the previous 41-point outburst against the Rockets last Monday. He was piping hot in the first quarter and nailed his first 3 baskets, 2 treys with 15 total in the first quarter.

Draymond Green spent more time with the second unit as Coach Steve Kerr ensured more court generalship with the recently ineffective off-the-bench squad. This will give the younger guns a bit more confidence as they face stiffer opponents.

In the final quarter, Green went coast-to-coast and passed to Anthony Lamb who quickly made the deuce to increase their 103-82 with 10:41 left in the game. Green concluded with 9 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and successfully dished 12 assists.

Jordan Poole, in an uncharacteristic performance, did not hit all 8 of his 3-PT attempts, and scored 8 points, 1 rebound and 5 assists.

Efficient hall handling was evident tonight as Golden State made only 5 turnovers in the first half and 13 total.

The Warriors defense is still without Andre Iguodala, but still limited the Clippers to 107 points. Is this a tell tale sign of an improving defense?

As a team, the Warriors shot 49.5% FG and 37.3% 3-PT.

It was Warriors ring giveaway night tonight as the fans receive replicas of the 2021-22 NBA championship rings.

The LA Clippers were without Kawhi Leonard who sprained his right ankle on a defensive play in their home win against the Utah Jazz sometime in the fourth quarter Monday night.

Marcus Morris Sr. led the Clippers with19 points, followed by Terance Man with 17, and Amir Coffey with 13, respectively.

As a team, the Clippers shot respectable stats, 44.8% FG and 39.3% 3-PT.

Upcoming:

Golden State Warriors: Host the Utah Jazz on Friday.

Los Angeles Clippers: Host the Denver Nuggets on Friday.
