Niyomtrong, Menayothin Make Weight for WBA-105 World Title Wednesday in Thailand By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Tue, 19 Jul 2022 BANG SAEN BEACH, Thailand -- Two of the most dominating, accomplished and successful fighters in boxing's lightest weight division made weight ahead of their long-awaited rumble for the WBA Minimumweight Super Championship tomorrow Wednesday, July 20, here in amazing, hot and sunny Bang Saen Beach in the Kingdom of Thailand. The unbeaten WBA Minimumweight Super Champion Thammanoon Niyomtrong (23-0, 9 KO's) came in at 104.7 lbs (47.5 Kilos), looking focused, serious and in awesome shape for tomorrow's clash against a battle-tested warrior whom he knows and respects so well: former long-time WBC 105 lbs world ruler Wanheng Menayothin (a.k.a. Chayaphon Moonsri). Meanwhile, the challenger Menayothin (55-2, 19 KO's), stepped-in at 104.50 (47.4Kgs), absolutely ready to rumble with ultimate goal of decisively beating Niyomtrong, better if by KO, to become king of the world again. Can he do it? For years boxing fans here in this boxing-loving Kingdom thought that these compatriots and stablemates Niyomtrong and Wanheng might never get into the hot square ring to trade heavy blows as the two starry Thai fighters have long-belonged to the same boxing promotion company; yet boxing is the way it is and the two awesome minimumweight warriors will collide tomorrow with the WBA Super Championship on the line... fans getting ready for the treat. Both men are known to be superbly skilled technical fighters, owners of exquisite boxing, educated jab with total orthodoxy. None has ever been known to approach fighting from the brawler's stance. That's probably why their KO ratios are not that high. Still, both men have shown heart and determination, willing to trade rough when necessary. Nevertheless, the middle distance and the use of skills and technique is what seem to drive both boxers, whom tomorrow will surely have one of the most important fights of their lives. The highly tactical 12-rounder is staged by veteran Thai men of boxing Piyarat Vachirarattanawong and Panya Prachakorn of Diamond Boxing, a legendary boxing outfit in this Kingdom, organizing boxing an muay time for ages. The third man for the intriguing event will be Thai veteran international referee Pinit Prayadsab. Ring Officials Prommase Chakshuraksha, Armando Garcia and Chalerm Prayadsab. Niyomtrong vs Wanheng airs live in the Kingdom of Thailand on True4U Channel 24. Boxing fans outside Thailand may enjoy the fight in Thailand on True4U TV official website's live stream in this link: https://true4u.com/live/ Fights start at 6:00 PM Thai Time (Thailand Time is UTC + 7) May the Best Man Win!
