MTK Global signs British title challenger Lewis Paulin PhilBoxing.com Thu, 25 Nov 2021 MTK Global is delighted to announce the signing of former British featherweight title challenger Lewis Paulin. Paulin (12-1, 3 KOs) is set to make his long-awaited return, with his last fight coming in June 2019 when he suffered an extremely narrow split decision defeat to Ryan Walsh for the British belt. Edinburgh's Paulin is also a former Scottish Area champion, and he's excited to make his comeback and achieve big things with MTK Global by his side. Paulin said: "It's exciting to sign with a new team. Especially with it being such a large team. There are endless opportunities and shows for me with MTK Global. Being part of the same team as some huge names shows the true reach MTK have in boxing. "It's been a couple years since I last fought so it's going to be good to get the whole buzz you get throughout the camp and on fight night. I love a challenge so I'm looking forward to trying to achieve more personal goals. "Over the last two years I've never stopped training. I'm just like that. I'm the kind of guy who always stays fit, so once I get back to boxing specific training like your sparring and your timing, I don't think it will be too long until I'm fighting fit again. "I fought for the British title in my last fight and I felt, along with a lot of others, that I was pretty hard done by. I made it no secret that I really want to win a major belt. I'd love any of them to be honest, the British, Commonwealth or European. I feel I'm good enough to win all of them, and then who knows what doors open after that. "I have always been a high tempo fighter so I intend to press even harder with more aggression and heavier shots. I plan on keeping momentum from fight to fight and with MTK there are a lot of options out there for me." MTK Global Promoter Lee Eaton added: "We're thrilled to welcome Lewis Paulin to the team. He clearly has unfinished business in the sport after his close British title challenge, and we're confident that he can have a lot of success from here on out. "Scottish boxing is flying at the moment and Lewis can become a key part of that, so we'll be looking to get him back into the ring as soon as possible." |
