PhilBoxing.com

Cuban Sensation Hector Lombard Battles Hard-Hitting David Mundell in BKFC 10 Main Event Saturday, February 15 Live on Pay-Per-View from the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (January 20, 2020) - A showdown between Cuban sensation Hector “Showeather” Lombard and hard-hitting David Mundell will headline BKFC 10 as Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) hits South Florida with an explosive cruiserweight main attraction taking place Saturday, February 15 live on pay-per-view from the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The co-main event will feature an all-action 165-pound contest between Jim Alers and Kaleb Harris. Also competing on February 15 will be Luis Palomino facing Elvin Britto in a 155-pound bout, as well as Dat Nguyen squaring off against Abdiel Velazquez in a 135-pound fight.

“BKFC 10” will be broadcast across the United States and Canada, exclusively on pay-per-view through MultiVision Media, Inc., on all major television distribution outlets for $29.99. It will also be available to BKFC’s international broadcast partners worldwide and via stream to all in-home and out-of-home connected devices through FITE.

“It’s amazing to bring BKFC to South Florida,” said BKFC founder and president David Feldman. “There are great fight fans in South Florida. Hector Lombard, Jim Alers and Luis Palomino are all from there and bringing their tremendous fanbases with them. February 15 will be a great night fights for fans in South Florida.”

“I’ve been training hard to give my South Florida fans a night to remember,” said Lombard. “I am ready, and I will win on February 15!”

“I’m coming to put on a show in South Florida,” said Mundell. “I’m going to knockout Lombard. By the time the fight is over, everyone will be a fan of mine."

Born in Matanzas, Cuba and now fighting out of Florida, Lombard competed for his home country in the 2000 Olympic Games before embarking on his storied MMA career.

He racked up a 17-2-1 MMA record before joining Bellator in 2009, where he won their first ever middleweight championship by defeating Jared Hess and became the first Bellator champion to defend his title when he defeated Alexander Shlemenko. He would then go on to compete 12 times for UFC from 2012 through 2018, and now he’ll be making his highly anticipated BKFC debut on February 15.

The 28-year-old Mundell has showed impressive power in BKFC, knocking out both opponents that he’s squared off against in the first round. His BKFC debut came at BKFC 6 when he stopped Drew Lipton, and he most recently delivered another short night against Ronnie Forney at BKFC 8 in October. Fighting out of Dunedin, Fla.,

Mundell owns a 10-5 pro MMA record after turning pro in 2014. Alers is no stranger to BKFC either, having racked up knockout victories over Elvin Britto on BKFC 6, a highlight-reel knockout over Leonard Garcia on BKFC 7 and another knockout win against Julian Lane on BKFC 8. With a win on February 15, Alers is looking to put himself in position for a title shot versus Jason Knight.

The Mississippi native Harris made his BKFC debut at BKFC 5, losing a hard-fought split-decision to Harris Stephenson. Harris returned to BKFC action to score a decisive knockout victory against Jonathan Vistante at BKFC 7, which won BKFC’s 2019 Knockout of the Year honors. Harris picked up a second BKFC win on BKFC 9 against Jeff Chiffens. On February 15, Harris will be stepping into the squared circle for the fourth time.

Palomino is a Peruvian-American mixed martial artist who competes in the lightweight division. Born in Peru and fighting out of Miami, Palomino has been competing professionally in MMA since 2006 and owns a pro MMA record of 26-17.

The Puerto Rican native Brito is an experienced MMA fighter who scored one of the most impressive knockouts in BKFC history over Harris Stephenson on BKFC 3. Brito suffered a loss to Jim Alers on BKFC 6 and he’ll look to avenge that loss when he faces Palomino in South Florida.

Fighting out of Vero Beach, Fla., former professional lightweight boxer Dat Nguyen returns to BKFC for the second time. Nguyen made his BKFC debut on BKFC 8, dominating Travis Thompson on his way to a unanimous decision victory. On BKFC 10, Nguyen will look to defeat Velazquez in similarly dominant fashion.

Velazquez has four previous BKFC contests under his belt. On BKFC 3, Velazquez scored the second fastest ending to a fight in his professional combat sports career. It took just 76 seconds for Velazquez to finish Shawn West. On BKFC 5, Velazquez fell to Johnny Bedford via knockout. Velazquez got himself back on track with consecutive BKFC wins at BKFC 6 and BKFC 8, and he’ll look to continue his winning ways on February 15.
