PROGRAIS: "I'M TOTALLY ADJUSTABLE, LONDON IS A DREAM COME TRUE"

PhilBoxing.com

Regis Prograis arrived in England’s capital three weeks prior to the Ali Trophy Final against Josh Taylor to adjust to the new surroundings and make the last preparations.

“The main thing is the time difference which is eight hours difference,” he told Boxing Social at Thursday’s media workout. “When it’s night time over here my wife and kids are just getting up and vice versa. The time difference messed with my body for five-six days, but I got totally adjusted, that’s why I made sure I came over here early.

“Now I’m adjusted to the weather, the food, the culture, the people. It was my investment to come early and I’m glad I did. The food is not like New Orleans food, I’ll tell you that, but we actually found some good places to eat, to be honest.”

Moving and adjusting is a way of life for the American who grew up in New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina forced him and his family to relocate to Houston, Texas in 2005. Recently he moved to live and train in Los Angeles, California.

“I’m totally adjustable,” he told. “New Orleans will always be home. Most of my family and close friends all live there. So that will always be home. Before and after every fight I go to New Orleans, I go back home. It’s a city like no other. The culture, the food, the people. It’s definitely a great city. Houston doesn’t have the same culture, but Houston for me for a long time that was home. I still love Houston.

“And now I live in sunny L.A. Honestly L.A. is like a dream city. The ocean is right in my backyard and I’m freediving and spearfishing. I live in the hills and run up the mountains. The weather is beautiful all of the time. It’s perfect living there. Now I’m here in London and it’s a dream coming true for me. I always dreamed of fighting in the UK.”

The hotly-anticipated WBSS Super-Lightweight Ali Trophy Final at The O2 in London on October 26 is shown live via Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and DAZN in the U.S. To sign up for a one-month free trial, fans can visit DAZN.com or download the DAZN app to their preferred connected device.
