Inaugural WKN British Open championships in the UK
The World Kickboxing Network ? returns to Scotland this coming Saturday (August 3) with WKN British Open held at the Fraserburgh Leisure Centre in Fraserburgh, Scotland.
Presented by Albert Ross, the inaugural WKN British Open championships will see adult and junior competitors battling it out in their respective age and weight classes. The list of disciplines includes Full Contact, oriental rules, low kick and light contact. The teams from all over UK have been scheduled to participate.
Stephane Cabrera, President of World Kickboxing Network stated:
"We look forward to the first WKN British Open organised in Scotland. The concept of the amateur open tournament is to continue the development of sport, building a new generation. We also plan to host WKN Open in Spain in the near future, which will be an international amateur MMA tournament."
The upcoming WKN British Open follows the "Rise of Champions" event recently held in Fraserburgh, Scotland (July 20) featuring a pair of championship bouts. The event precedes WKN World Cup 2019 taking place at The Trusts Arena in Auckland, New Zealand from November 28 to November 30.
The following visit of World Kickboxing Network to the United Kingdom is scheduled for October 26 with the next edition of "made-in Prokick" events held at the Stormont Hotel in Belfast. Representing Europe, Northern Ireland's Johnny "Swift" Smith defends his WKN Intercontinental Welterweight against Japan's Shuhei Sone, representing Asia, in the headline of "Lord of the Ring".
