TABITI: "I AM CONFIDENT I CAN BEAT DORTICOS, I HOPE HE'S IN SHAPE AND READY!"

PhilBoxing.com

Andrew Tabiti (17-0, 13 KOs) talks Briedis, Inoue and his opponent Yunier Dorticos (23-1, 21 KOs) ahead of their Cruiserweight Semi-Final on June 15 at the Arena Riga in Riga, Latvia.

?The Beast? Tabiti, a rising star among the Floyd Mayweather Promotions stable, who is trained by Floyd Mayweather Sr, has a dream of becoming a household name like his promoter and the path to fame and recognition is going through the World Boxing Super Series and the quest for the Ali Trophy.

?I?ve been waiting for the opportunity to prove I?m one of the best in my division since the beginning of my career,? said Tabiti. ?I believe this semi-final will show the world that I?m world champion material and able to win the trophy.?

The explosive power-puncher is poised to enter the Arena Riga on June 18 and show his ?A game? and the American predicts he will face Latvia?s Mairis Briedis in the final later this year.

How has training camp been going?
?Training has been going very well. I have been in the gym for over 14 weeks. This is the best shape I have ever felt in my career.?

What do you think of your opponent Dorticos?
?I have got to have respect for a fighter like him that is why I stepped up my training. I am training harder and training longer. I am definitely not overlooking him, but I am confident I can beat him.?

Do you have a message for him?
?I hope he is in shape and ready. I am coming to fight.?

What can the fans in Riga expect to see from you?
?The fans can expect to see me sharp on with boxing skills and getting the victory.?

What is your dream scenario for the fight?
?It is going to be a good, entertaining fight. I think it?s going to be the fight of the night. I am going to come with my A-game and I am pretty sure he will too.?

Have you been seeing or following the other divisions in the WBSS?
?I have seen the 118 division and the 140 division on Instagram. I like the kid from Japan, Naoya Inoue. It is crazy how small he is and he is knocking guys out like Tyson. That?s the guy I am looking out for.?

Who do you think you will face in the final?
?I believe it is going to be Briedis and I. At first I thought Glowacki was a better fighter, but I looked him over again and I think Briedis will take this fight. I see myself and Briedis in the final.?

The WBSS returns on June 15 with a sensational doubleheader at the Arena Riga in Riga, Latvia: Mairis Briedis vs Krzysztof Glowacki and Yunier Dorticos vs Andrew Tabiti for spots in the Cruiserweight Final for the Ali Trophy.

Tickets for the hotly-anticipated semi-finals in Riga are on sale from: bilesuserviss.lv

All the action will be live on DAZN in the U.S. and Sky Sports in the U.K.
