Tom Loeffler's 360 Promotions had a press conference for its 'Superfly 3' event at the Avalon Theater on Vine St in Hollywood Wednesday afternoon (Thursday morning in Manila). Headlining the event on September 8 at The Fabulous Forum and televised on HBO is former two-time world champion Juan Francisco Estrada (36-3-0, 25KOs) of Mexico who will go up against countryman Felipe Orocuta (36-4-0, 30KOs). Co-headline is a matchup between two Filipinos Donnie Nietes (41-1-4, 23KOs) and Aston Palicte (24-2-0, 20KOs) for the vacant WBO world super flyweight crown. Opening the HBO telecast is a fight between Japanese star Kazuto Ioka (22-1-0, 13KOs) and McWilliams Arroyo (17-3-0, 14KOs).
Former No.l pound for pound fighter Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez who will be fighting on the undercard of the Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin superbout rematch in Las Vegas on Sep. 15 and has been credited for opening up the Superfly series, also graced the event. Orocuta and Arroyo were absent during Wednesday's presscon.
