Mama outpoints Su to advance to next round of IBF Silk Road tourney

JAYSON Mama of the Sanman Boxing Gym didn?t disappoint in his first fight abroad after pulling off a unanimous decision win over hometown bet Yinhuan Su in the quarterfinal round of the IBF Silk Road Tournament on Sunday night at the Wynn Palace Cotai in Macau, China.
Mama earned the nod of the judges with his pinpoint jabs as he sealed the win with a dominating performance in the final three rounds of the 10-round duel.
Scores were 97-93, 96-94 and 96-94.
?I want to thank God for this victory. I also want to thank Sanman Promotions. I am very happy and I will continue to work hard,? said Mama, who remained unbeaten in 11 fights with six knockout victories.
Su dropped to 6W-3L,1KO.
Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude Manangquil praised Mama for his fight-long brilliant.
?He out-boxed his opponent. His jabs were precise but it was really in the last three rounds where he dominated his opponent,? said Manangquil.
Mananquil assured Mama will be ready for the bigger task ahead.
?It was a great win and we look forward to the next round. We are happy with the win but the main goal is to win the tournament,? declared Manangquil.
