BRIGHT FUTURE FOR HAMZAH FAROUK AS HE EARNS SIXTH STRAIGHT PROFESSIONAL BOXING VICTORY AT THE RING FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP IV

SINGAPORE, 30th June 2018 ? Hamzah Farouk extended his winning fight streak to 6-0, with yet another commanding performance at the fourth edition of The Ring Fighting Championship (TRFC) IV, knocking out his Indonesian opponent Ramly Pasaribu in the second round.

Farouk dominated the Super Featherweight contest right from the get go, before ending it with the fourth TKO of his career when he landed a flurry of strong right fists on his opponent?s face a minute and nine seconds into the second round, which left his 31-year-old opponent dazed on the floor.

After yet another notable victory, the 29-year-old Golden Glove Asia Promotions (GGAP) boxer, who is also a boxing coach at The Ring Boxing Community (TRBC), delightedly said: ?It was a good fight. Ramly came to compete but I trained hard for this and visualized the punches I could knock him out with. I studied his fights and knew exactly which punches he was vulnerable to. We trained for it, and executed it perfectly. I am happy we got the victory, and I feel I am now ready to take a step up in opposition and pit myself against better fighters.?

Following his impressive exploits in the boxing ring, the on-looking World Boxing Council (WBC) Asia Boxing Council (ABC) Executive Secretary Col. Damrong Simakajornboon then went on to suggest there?s a strong likelihood Farouk will get a chance to compete for the vacant WBC Asia Continental Super Featherweight title.

Another boxer with a bright future is France?s Abdelelah Karroum, who too put on a masterful display to earn his second TKO victory, and made it three consecutive wins since his professional boxing debut earlier this year.

The 25-year-old was steady throughout the match-up with his Indonesian challenger Benny Tamaela, smartly assessing every situation and putting in strong counterpunches before landing a huge body shot towards the end of the second round, which took Tamaela out of the contest.

After yet another dominant display, Karroum will now face a sterner test when he takes on Malaysia?s Keng Fai Hui at the Roar of Singapore V on 29 September 2018, to challenge for the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) Oceania Welterweight Title.

In the main event of the evening, Muhammad Ridhwan ended the night on a high when he made easy work of his Indonesian competitor Rivo Rengkung by knocking him out in two minutes and 14 seconds into the second round.

On his victory, the 11-0 professional boxer remarked, ?The fight went according to plan. We know we needed to get the knockout so we went there and created opportunities to get the knockout and we did it in the second round.?

Next up for Ridhwan is a challenge for the vacant IBO World Super Bantamweight title at the Roar of Singapore V, against Thailand?s vastly experienced Pipat Chaiporn, who has 58 bouts under his belt.

Amateur Boxing

Besides the eight professional boxing bouts on show, there were also three amateur boxing match-ups, which were TRFC Amateur Title defenses for Leona Hui, Velvan Tan and Tawee Yu.

It was a tightly contested affair in all three title challenges, with only Hui managing to hold on to her TRFC Amateur Women?s Light Flyweight title.

In the other two title challenges, Singapore national boxer Nur Sabrina battled hard over the three rounds to take the TRFC Amateur Women?s Featherweight title from Yu, while undefeated boxer Helal Jr. wrestled the TRFC Amateur Men?s Light Welterweight title from Tan.

Growth for Boxing in Singapore and Asia

It was once again a great night at TRBC as it hosted the fourth edition of TRFC, which is sanctioned by the Singapore Amateur Boxing Association (SABA) and the World Boxing Council (WBC), where there were a total of 370 attendees.

Mr. Ruchdi Hajjar, founder of GGAP and TRBC, added: ?With every TRFC event, we want to make it better and impactful, and showcase what boxing has to offer to everyone! Besides staging boxing shows, we?re determined to build the calibre of our boxers under GGAP, such as Farouk and Karroum, and unveil their brave hearts and talent in Singapore and beyond!?

There are three GGAP events lined up for the second half of 2018 ? TRFC Elite Amateurs on 7th September, the first edition of TRFC Bangkok on 19th October, and TRFC V on 30th November.
