Michael Enriquez Set to Swap Blows with Yutthana Kaensa for WBA 112-lbs Asia Belt June 29 in Bangkok

PhilBoxing.com

Filipino flyweight Michael "Blade" Enriquez (13-6-1, 9 KO's) of Misamis Oriental is set to swap blows against WBA #13 Yutthana Kaensa (also known as Stamp Kiatniwat) for the vacant WBA Asia 112-lbs Title on Thursday June 29 in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand.

The Kaensa vs Enriquez WBA Asia clash has been confirmed by Enriquez's manager Jim Claude Manangquil of Sanman Promotions and by Kaensa (Stamp) promoter Euang Laosuwanwat of Thailand's Galaxy Boxing.

The rumble will take place in the ring of the campus of Thonburi University in Nongkhaem, about 45 minutes west of downtown Bangkok.

For the appointment, the 25-year-old Enriquez has been training at Sanman Gym in General Santos City (Southern Philippines) under the guidance of experienced Filipino coach Romeo Brillantes Desabilles, who will accompany him to Thailand.

Coach Desabilles knows quite well the intricacies of Thai boxing as he has worked and trained Thai boxers, including Thai former 2-time WBO bantamweight world champion Pungluang Sor Singyu (52-4, 35 KO's), a fighter of the Onesongchai Boxing Stable.

So, its no doubt that Desabilles is an asset in the corner of Enriquez.

Indeed, it will be the first time that "Blade" Enriquez fights in Thailand. However, he is not stranger to fighting in foreign rings as he has waged wars in South Africa, Macao and Japan.

The FIlipino comes from a rather easy KO win over unheralded compatriot Jade Yagahon (7-8-2, 3 KO's) in T'Boli, Cotabato, last March.

Two years ago, Enriquez battled talented world-ranked Rex Tso (21-0, 13 KO's) in Macau, China, losing by points in a good combat, demonstrating spirit and boxing skills of his own.

Meanwhile, Yutthana Kaensa (16-1, 6 KO's), who has been interim WBA Flyweight champion will arrive to his clash with Enriquez from a points victory over newcomer fighter Rajesh last March.

Kaensa's (Stamp) one defeat in his pro career was a TKO lost against superbly talented 3-division Japanese World Champion Kazuto Ioka (22-1, 13 KO's) last December in Kyoto.

Will the more accomplished Thai former titlist Kaensa (Stamp) score a win over Enriquez?

Or will the brave Filipino shock Kaensa to beat the odds and become WBA Asia champion?

The Kaensa vs Enriquez 12-round battle for the WBA Asia Flyweight Title is a production of Galaxy Boxing Promotions, a company of the much respected man of boxing Mr. Niwat Laosuwanwat.

Mr. Laosuwanwat was the long-time manager of legendary Thailand Hall-of-Famer super flyweight knockout artist Khaosay Galaxy (47-1, 41 KO's), one of the greatest punchers of all time.
