Cebu City ? Longest reigning Filipino world champion Donnie 'Ahas' Nietes together with rising stars Mark 'Magnifico' Magsayo and Jeo 'Santino' Santisima made their last public workout at the Robinson's Galleria Saturday afternoon ahead of their fights on April 29 on 'Pinoy Pride 40 ? Domination' at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino where Nietes attempts to capture the IBF world flyweight title when he faces Komgrich Nantapech of Thailand. Magsayo will face Issa 'Peche Boy' Nampepeche of Tanzania while Jeo 'Santino' Santisima takes on Master Suro of Indonesia on the chief support bouts.

The trio engaged in a solid 45-minute workout in front of a huge weekend crowd where they performed shadow-boxing, mitts and plyometrics routines.

?This is our last public workout because in the next two weeks we can no longer disturb them,? ALA Promotions PR manager Chelna Locaylocay told Philboxing.

The next two weeks will mark the most difficult part of Nietes's training schedule where he is expected to engage in 12-round sparring sessions. ?Right now Donnie is already doing 10 rounds sparring. Next week he will do 12-rounds then we will taper off in the final two weeks,? ALA Promotions trainer and matchmaker Edito Villamor said.

Nietes, himself reiterated the hard work he put on ahead of the Nantapech bout. ?We're working very hard. It's not easy because I'm not taking this fight easy,? Nietes said.

Asked about the possibility of being burnt out with over-training, Nietes, 34, said ?I know how my body works. If I feel tired I'll tell my coaches about it but so far everything is okay.?

Nietes, who is now considered as one of the Filipino boxing greats, hasn't lost a match since he became the WBO world minimumweight champion in 2007. He captured the WBO world junior flyweight title in 2011 and is now targeting a third world title in the flyweight division, attempting to become only the third Filipino to win titles in three divisions behind Manny Pacquiao and Nonito Donaire Jr.
