LEAGUE OF FISTS SEMIS SIZZLE AT ONE SHOW SPACE By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Sun, 15 Jan 2017  SHANGHAI, CHINA- The League of Fists professional boxing tournament had their second of a back to back weekend fight card at One Show Space featuring three semi-final bouts. Fu Kaisheng survived a knockdown in the second round courtesy of a hard counter right from Aminbuhe and got a hard-fought split decision win after six rounds of their superlightweight semis match. The fighters took turns landing hard well placed punches but Fu rallied in the later rounds. Fu also suffered a cut on his right eyelid due to an accidental headbutt in the fourth round. The scorecards highlighted the close encounter ? Sawaeng Thaweekoon and Mekin Sumon ? 57-56 for Fu while Edward Ligas had it 57-56 for Aminbuhe. The referee was Atty.Danrex Tapdasan. Fu will meet Yang Yongqiang in the super lightweight finals on a later date. In a superbantamweight semis bout, Chen Sen edged Mai Qingxian in another close fast paced battle. The boxers exchanged hard punches and accurate counters throughout the fight. But Chen?s aggressiveness enabled him to win the latter rounds and get a split verdict. Scores ? Danrex Tapdasan and Mekin Sumon ? 58-56 for Chen, Edward Ligas ? 58-56 for Mai. In a superflyweight semis match, Zhao Jun had too much of a size advantage over Zhou Bin and won 59-55 on the scorecards of Zhao Yubin, Edward Ligas and Mekin Sumon. Power punching superwelterweight Li Tonghui knocked out Beni Tamaela of Indonesia in 1:56 of the opening round with a left hook to the ribs. Zhakupov Miras of Kazakhstan beat Zhen Guanjie by majority decision in their featherweight tussle. Scores ? Yin Haiyang ? 38-38, Sawaeng Thaweekoon and Yuan Yunzi ? 39-37. For the rest of the four round undercards bouts ? Cruiserweights Li Shuai and Yuan Pengyang battled to a four round split draw, Fan Qisong beat Zhan Zefeng by unanimous decision, Su Yinhuan won by unanimous decision over Luo Chuan, Dong Youli got a unanimous decision over Wu Guangming, Tian Duancai beat Aman Bahetiyaer by unanimous verdict and Nuer Muhanmode got a unanimous nod over Ahatelike. The League of Fists professional boxing tournament is promoted by SECA and TOP RANK. The fights were supervised and officiated by the Professional Boxing Commission (PBC)of China.
