NBA -- Kings top Lakers in Vegas showdown
By Dondon Hontiveros PhilBoxing.com Sat, 15 Oct 2016

LAS VEGAS -- The Sacramento Kings survived a 31-point explosion form shifty guard D'Angelo Russell to beat the Los Angeles Lakers in the continuation of the NBA's preseason play on Thursday night at the swanky T-Mobile Atrna.
Russell, one of the Lakers' young stars, shot 10-of-14 form the field and 5-of-6 from long distance, but it wasn't enough to thwart the Kings, who got 21 points from Anthony Tolliver and 20 points from Darren Collison. Ruday Gay added 19 while veteran Arron Afflalo chipped in 16.
Los Angeles made 40 of 86 field goals (46.5 percent) but the Kings were a smoldering 58.7 percent (44 of 75). The Kings sank 13 of 21 triples while the Lakers went just 14 of 35 from beyond the arc.
Fil-Am Jordan Clarkson came off the bench with 18 markers, but no other Laker scored in double figures.
The Lakers fell to 2-3 in exhibition play and will return to the T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night (Sunday in Manila) to rumble with super talented Golden State Warriors.
The Kings improved to 2-2. (DH)
