AFTER JINKEE, PACMAN GETS ANOTHER SURPRISE VISITOR

PhilBoxing.com

CEBU CITY--After his wife Jinkee spent a whole afternoon at the gym with him the other day, Filipino boxing spitfire Manny Pacquiao had another surprise visitor yesterday, proving to all and sundry that all is well with his family.

Ten-month-old Mary Divine Grace, the 'Princess' in the Pacman's life, was at the gym yesterday for the first time with mom Jinkee and the bubbly and cherub-faced baby was a hit among the select fans and mediamen who were present at the Rex 'Wakee' Salud gym here.

Also at the gym yesterday were actors Dennis Padilla and Long Mejia, who are big fans of the boxing icon.

Another Sparmate Arrives

Another Mexican had arrived yesterday in Cebu, although he was not allowed to spar with Pacquiao. Instead, the southpaw boxing hero spent four rounds against David Rodela in a tough sparring session.

The new sparmate--Raymundo Beltran Jr--arrived from Arizona by way of Los Angeles yesterday confident that he would be useful in helping whip up Pacquiao into a mean wrecking machine against Barrera.

"I'm a bit tired, but I was happy with the warm welcome I got here. I'm not yet a world champion, but that's how they treated me when I arrived at the airport," said Beltran, who admitted that he once also worked with Barrera and said "he couldn't hurt me."

A Different Animal

Pacquiao, however, is a different animal according to Beltran.

"When he hits me even with just a good jab, I could really feel it," said Beltran, who worked with Pacquiao for the latter's preparation in his first bout with Erik Morales.

Pacquiao did not run in the morning yesterday due to a heavy downpour in Cebu, but Filipino trainer Buboy Fernandez said it was alright considering that it was sparring day.

Roach, meanwhile, seemed a little bit elated with how the crowd has been minimized at the gym.

"In the firs few days here, it was just crazy. There were people climbing up the fence!" said Roach. "But this time, I'm now very comfortable. There's just a few people around."

Roach also said that it is also a possibility that Pacquiao will continue to train in the Philippines even for his next big fights. "This is as good a gym as any in the world. I like it here," said Roach, who admitted getting enough time to catch up with his readings and focus all his energies on Pacquiao.

Pacquiao is slated to run at the hilly Alta Vista Golf and Country Club today in the morning, and will continue his workout in the afternoon.

Manny Pacuqiao has had light moments with the team at yesterday's training session at the RWS Gym in Cebu City.
