Press conference for Donnie Nietes today
PhilBoxing.com Tue, 16 Aug 2016

A press conference at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino today, Tuesday, August 16, has been set for longest-reigning Filipino world champion Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes, where he will formally announce that he will vacate his Jr. Flyweight title to move up to 112lbs.
Nietes headlines ALA Promotions? third US event at the Stubhub Center, Carson, CA on September 24. He faces former world champion Edgar Sosa from Mexico for a WBO championship.
In an earlier interview, Nietes has disclosed he is ?excited? to be fighting in a new and heavier weight division. The current WBO World Jr. flyweight champion has been in the 108lbs. division since winning the title in 2011 and successfully defended it nine times against the most notable opponents like former world champions Moises Fuentes and Francisco Rodriguez Jr. Nietes also added he is much more comfortable at his new weight, promising his fans a great performance, come September.
Not looking past a veteran rival and former flyweight king in Sosa, Donnie hopes he will be successful in dominating the new division against more world champions.
The fight will be available to Filipinos all over the world via TFC (The Filipino Channel) and nationally through Abs-cbn Channel 2 and Abs-cbn Sports+Action.
