TGW CAMPAIGN REACHES 25K MARK AND MEETINGS PROGRESS WITH ST ANDREWS HOSPITAL

PhilBoxing.com

THE TGW CAMPAIGN TO BRING A NEUROSURGEON TO TOOWOOMBA REACHED ANOTHER SIGNFICANT MILESTONE THIS WEEK with the charity account eclipsing the $25 000 mark.

In another significant step forward campaign President Brendon Smith and Vice President James O'Shea had another positive meeting with Saint Andrew's Hospital CEO Ray Fairweather earlier in the week.

"It's been a big week for us and a very proud week," Brendon Smith said.

"As of today I've been informed by our treasurer Brock Haslam the account sits at $25,982.

"Firstly to reach the twenty five thousand dollar mark is incredible and I can't say thanks enough to the general public for their support - both financially and emotionally.

"A lot of people are right behind our campaign.

"We walked away from our meeting with Ray Fairweather on Wednesday very optimistic.

"We caught up with Ray just to update him on our progress.

"Ray has been a great supporter of our campaign and I can't thank him enough for everything he's done for us.

"He has been supportive and compassionate about our cause but at the same time he's been very honest with us.

"We understand this is a long term goal and Ray has been very realistic with us and at no stage has given us false hope - I appreciate that greatly.

"He is a thorough gentleman and it's no surprise to see to see how well Saint Andrew's hospital is performing with someone of Ray's stature at the helm.

"I walked away from our discussion with Ray very optimistic we are heading in the right direction."

The campaign continues to gain momentum and Brendon Smith admits the support has been overwhelming.

"Overwhelming is an understatement, the support has been incredible, Smith said.

"Not only from Toowooba but across Australia and all over the World.

"The amount of people, businesses, organisations and sporting clubs that have contacted us and said they want to make the TGW campaign the beneficiary of their event has been amazing.

"It's further emphasised to me how many people believe we need a neurosurgeon here in Toowoomba.

"Our main goal in the first few years of this campaign has been awareness.

"I think we've achieved that goal, but we won't stop raising awareness about this cause.

"We will continue to raise awareness until the day we reach our end goal.

"We're looking big picture here and the end result is cutting the ribbon to the Brayd Smith TGW neurosurgical clinic right here in Toowoomba."
