CHARLOTTE --- The Charlotte Hornets finally got a much needed win, their first for 2016, and they did so in impressive fashion, dominating the visiting Atlanta Hawks, 107-84, at the Time Warner Cable Arena on Wednesday night.
" We showed we could be better than what we have shown the last two weeks.Tonight we did great.", Nic Batum told reporters after Charlotte snapped a 7-game losing skid. .
The (18-20) Hornets were the more aggressive team right at the bat as they stormed to an early 15 point first quarter lead. "Charlotte played really well tonight. Their activity on both ends of the court was indicative of how they pretty much had us on our heels the whole night from the beginning of the game.", Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer remarked.
Kemba Walker had a game high 23 points including 4-of-6 from behind the arc. Jeremy Lin finished with 19 points and Cody Zeller made his presence felt on both ends of the court with 19 points, 10 boards and 3 blocks. Nic Batum only tallied 6 points but contributed 10 assists.

In the 3rd period, the Hornets led by as many as 22 points with Marvin Williams, Walker and Zeller leading the charge. In the fourth quarter, the lead ballooned to 35 points and the Hornets coasted to victory.
