After Luis Ortiz shatter Bryan Jennings in 7 rounds last December 19th at the Turning Stone Casino Resort in Verona, New York, by TKO in the seventh assault. Cuban heavyweight remained fairly close to the gym, and just tell ringsidefigthingnews.com that on Monday January-11th. He plans to return to the gym to prepare for the next fight.
"I believe that next week I'll be back full time at the gym in Miami. Fla. I still talk to my manager Jay Jimenez and my trainer Herman Caicedo, to plan the entire training camp"express Ortiz.
"All heavyweights out there are talking about fights among them, and see that no one is willing to mention my name. In this weight class, they have to take first the Luis Ortiz name. I'm here to become the next world champion and in 2016, I'm sure I will be able to reach my goal" he added.
Recently, boxingscene.com reported that the World Boxing Association WBA, has just said Luis Ortiz, should face Russian Alexander Ustinov (33-1-0) on or before 19 June-16.
We ask Luis Ortiz on this fight against Ustinov, and he said had not heard anything about the possible fight. "My managers are in charge of these matters. My work comes down to being in the gym and get into the fights they propose me in the best possible physical condition " Ortiz said
I'm ready to fight the best or who is available, I have no concrete information about the Ustinov fight. But if later, my handlers reach an agreement to do it, I have no problems. I am here to fight and if it comes to Ustinov that's what we'll see," says Ortiz.
