By Eugene Nepangue PhilBoxing.com Sun, 29 Nov 2015
CHARLOTTE, N.C. The visiting Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Charlotte Hornets in an exciting 95-90 finale on Friday night at the Time Warner Cable Arena.
LeBron James led Cleveland with 25 points and 13 rebounds while Kevin Love added 18 points and six rebounds. Richard Jefferson 13 points and Tristan Thompson grabbed 12 boards for the Cavs.
The Cavs improved to 4-4 on the road while the Hornets, whose four-ga,e win streak was snapped, fell to 4-1 in their 7-game home stand.
Kemba Walker finished with 18 points for Charlotte while teammate Nicolas Batum added 17 points and eight rebounds. Al Jefferson and Marvin Williams accounted for 11 and 10 points respectively.
The Hornets led most of the way and took a 76-72 advantage into the fourth quarter. But the Cavs took an 87-86 advantage at the 6:37 mark of the fourth quarter.
The last time James lost to a Charlotte team was Feb. 19, 2010, during his first stint with the Cavaliers. Since then his teams (Heat and Cavs) have won 23 straight games against franchises based in Charlotte - both the Hornets and Bobcats. He played in all but two of those encounters.
The Hornets struggled in the fourth quarter, shooting just 7 of 24 from the field and were 8-of-25 from 3-point range with 16 turnovers.
Cavs center Timofey Mozgov returned to the starting lineup after missing the past three games with a strained right shoulder. He scored eight points in 18 minutes. Matthew Dellavedova also returned after missing a game with tightness in his left calf and had seven points in 33 minutes off the bench.
