CHARLOTTE -- The Charlotte Hornets celebrated their first win of the season in style, blowing out the Chicago Bulls, 130-105, at the Time Warner Cable Arena.
Jeremy Lamb provided the spark off the bench by scoring 20 points to pace the Hornets. Lamb made 9-of-10 shots and also had three assists and two steals. Nicolas Batum added 18 point and 8 rebounds for Charlotte.
Other Hornets notables included Jeremy Lin (15 points), Big Al Jefferson (14 points) and Spencer Hawes who went 3-for-3 from long distance to finish with 13 markers.
Jimmy Butler led Chicago with a season-high 26 points while Doug McDermott pumped in 17.Aaron Brooks finished with 14 and Pau Gasol added 13. Derrick Rose struggled with just four points.
But the biggest letdown was the Bulls defense which barely showed up, allowing the Hornets to shoot 51.6 percent from the field (47-of-91). The Bulls were also badly out-rebounded, 53-33, and committed 13 turnovers.
It was the Hornets first win in four starts after a season opening loss in Miami and back-to-back losses to the Atlanta Hawks. The red hot Hornets tailed 100 points in the first three quarters, the most points allowed during that span by the Bulls since 1990.
