PALICTE BATTLES SILVANO FOR WBO ORIENTAL SUPER FLYWEIGHT TITLE

Hard hitting Aston Palicte battles experienced former WBO Oriental light flyweight champion Virgilio Silvano in the main event of a blockbuster fight card presented by MP Promotions USA at the Bonifacio Naval Station in Taguig on November 13.
A product of the MP Gym in Davao City, the 24 year old Palicte who is trained by Manny Pacquao's assistant Nonoy Neri has an impressive record of 17 knockouts in 19 wins with only one loss and is regarded as one of the most promising prospects under the promotional outfit of eight division world champion Pacquiao.
Palicte is coming off a string of stoppage victories beginning with a 1st round knockout of Thailand?s Jomyuthlek Sor Narongchai to win the IBF Youth super flyweight title on January 31 this year after which he scored a 7th round TKO over Ismael Garnica in a scheduled ten round bout last March 7.
Palicte followed this up with a 3rd round knockout of Michael Escobia in a scheduled ten rounder on May 30 after which he won by a 4th round TKO over Fernando Ocon on August 14.
Silvano who is 25 has a record of 20-5-1 with 12 knockouts.
The southpaw slugger from the Omega Gym in Cebu won the vacant WBO Oriental light flyweight title with a unanimous twelve round decision over Jetly Purisima on September 7, 2013 before dropping a twelve round decision to Katsunari Takayama in an IBF minimum weight title fight on December 3, 2013.
Silvano then lost by a 1st round TKO to Jonathan Taconing regarded as a future world champion in a Oriental Pacific Boxing Federation light flyweight title on March 25 last year before scoring back-to-back wins over Marzan Cabilla (TKO 3) on September 11 last year and Ryan Tampus who retired in the 4th round last February 2 before dropping a ten round unanimous decision to Jetro Pabustan on July 11.
