COMETH THE HOUR COMETH THE MAN: Oct 31 shapes as a career defining night for many fighters

PhilBoxing.com

COMETH THE HOUR COMETH THE MAN. The hour will come this Saturday night at Rumours International inside the ring and cometh the man? you will read all about come Sunday morning.

Who will seize the opportunity? So many bouts on the TGW & Smithy Bring the Big Fights card loom as make or break or career defining.

In the main event Iron Will Young takes on Matt C4 Seden for the Australian super featherweight title. Young has the chance to re-write the record books and become the first Darling Downs boxer to win two National titles in different weight divisions.

He also has a big piece of history against him - He's fought Matt Seden twice and on both occasions Seden has had his hand raised in victory.

"History is there to be broken," Will Young said.

"Matt has two wins over me but I'll be doing everything in my power to stop it from being three.

"Cometh the hour cometh the man - I'll be ready when it's my moment seize the opportunity."

Hard hitting welterweight Kris George faces a cross road bout. After his last loss, which was also his first, at super lightweight against China's Xu Chan - he's made the decision to return to welterweight.

In front of him is a seasoned and well traveled Heri Andriyanto. The Indonesian has fought on the World stage and has a huge advantage when it comes to experience.

George has made it clear he wants a fight with Jeff Horn. In order to get a shot at Horn he needs a big win over Andriyanto. Whether its Horn next or not - there will be plenty of opportunities on the doorstep for the Silencer if he can win on October 31.

"I wanted a stern test in my first fight back at welterweight and I've got it in Heri Andriyanto," George said.

"Now I have to get the job done so my career can move forward.

"The outcome of this fight will most certainly shape the next step of my career so it's arguably the biggest fight of my life.

"Challenges are put in front of you to be conquered and that's what I plan on doing come October 31," George said.

Hard hitting heavyweight Herman Ene-Purcell faces the biggest test of his career, both literally and figuratively, against American Clarence Tillman.

Ene-Purcell has taken his career record to 6 wins and 4 losses after winning 4 of his last 5 bouts.

Clarence Tillman brings a wealth of big fight experience and no doubt will challenge the younger Ene-Purcell.

This is a career defining moment for the Herminator and most certainly a case of cometh the hour cometh the man. The big puncher has unlimited potential, while he's still a baby in the sport and a work in progress this is a chance for him to seize the moment and open doors for future opportunities.

"This is a big opportunity for me," Ene-Purcell said.

"Clarence Tillman is a big man and has been in there with the likes of Sonny Bill Williams and Lucas Browne.

"I have immense respect for him.

"But I understand this is a fight I need to make a statement in and show I'm a prospect for future titles.

"My time is now and I'm not going to let it go easily.

"Clarence is so tall it will look like David vs Goliath when we go face to face and we all know David won that battle so hopefully I can beat Clarence Tillman," Ene-Purcell said.

While it's a career defining night it's also a chance for a new star to be born or for young guns to keep enhancing their reputations.

Brent Rice is undefeated in two bouts and has been very impressive, now he faces his first International against Jemmy Gobel.

Jamie Hilt, who is one fight for one win steps up against former State champion Mark Ramirez.

We see the re-match between local rivals Kyle Teer and Sammy Williams.

And a queen of the mountain will be crowned when Vicki Neal takes on Julie Livet.
