KIA/MAHINDRA TEAM MANAGER SAYS THEY ARE NEGOTIATING NA BUYOUT OF BURTSCHER?S CONTRACT
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Thu, 01 Oct 2015
 Burtscher.
The team manager of Kia, now Mahindra, Eric Pineda, says he is seeking to buy-out the contract of Fil-Swede center Michael Burtscher because he is constantly injured and will meet with the player who launched a tirade against the team on social media which Pineda said he should not have done.
In a lengthy conversation with the New Standard/Viva Sports, Pineda admitted that Burscher?s contract is valid until August 31, 2016 although Pineda said that ?after August 31 this year we are buying out his contract because he is always injured and is going to be injured again.?
Pineda said they had already made an offer to buy-out Burtscher?s contract but their counter was way, way too much. They are going to my office today but I told the guy you have been doing a lot of things you should not have been doing that?s why you are injured because it is in the Uniform Players Contract that they cannot engage in any other sports.?
Pineda admitted that Burthscher suffered an ankle injury during practice ?so we worked on that and everything was fine and then he re-injured himself on his knee. He wanted to do an operation but that was the time we were already trying to buy-out his contract. But it's not a problem for us because it's our responsibility and we will have you operated, but it's not something that is needed immediately .?
When informed of Burtscher?s complaints liberally spiced with the F-word, Pineda said he should not have done that because ?we have been very nice to him he has been making a lot of money from the team and then when he didn?t receive his salary for one month he complains. If he claims he has no money that?s his problem not mine.?
