HERMINATOR'S BIG CHALLENGE: Big American CLARENCE TILLMAN coming to the Garden City on October 31 to take on Herman Ene-Purcell

PhilBoxing.com

TILLMAN PROVIDES ENE-PURCELL WITH HIS BIGGEST CHALLENGE
Herman Ene-Purcell will fight American Clarence Tillman on October 31 at TGW & Smithy' Bring the Big Fights 11.

THE BIGGER THEY ARE THE HARDER THEY FALL, that's the adage Herman Ene-Purcell hopes rings true come October 31 when he meets American Clarence Tillman in a four round heavyweight contest. Figuratively and literally it will be the biggest challenge of Herman Ene-Purcell's career. The New Orleans heavyweight stands at 196 cm, Ene-Purcell is 173cm. Tillman has been in the ring on thirty six occasions. He's fought in his homeland of the USA,New Zealand, Japan, China and Australia. Among his bouts either in Australia or New Zealand include Lucas Browne (twice) Sonny Bill Williams and Hunter Sam.

"Without a doubt it's the biggest fight of Herman's career," Brendon Smith said.

"When these boys go face to face it's going to look like David and Goliath.

"Tillman is a big man and a big challenge for Herman.

"After his great win in China a few weeks ago, Herman needs to keep stepping up and this fight is certainly another step up.

"Tillman has recorded more wins than Herman has had fights in his career.

"Clarence Tillman will bring plenty of flavour to our card on October 31.

"Herman has a tough task in front of him but it's one I believe he's capable of conquering," Smith said

Ene-Purcell's record now sits at six wins and four losses from ten bouts. Following his win in China over Isaraphap Sor Varunee on September 11 the hard hitting heavyweight was straight back into the gym in readiness for October 31.

"I'm really excited about this one," Ene Purcell said.

"Clarence Tillman is a very good heavyweight and has experience all over the world.

"His size alone makes it a tough fight for me, he will have a distinct height and reach advantage but I will work to my strengths and hopefully I can chop him down.

"I will work hard for this one and I hope everyone in Toowoomba can come along and support this show.

"I'll do my best to give the crowd a good show.

"Clarence Tillman brings a lot of character and gamesmanship.

" When he fought Sonny Bill Williams he threw a punch at Sonny at the weigh in so I need to be on guard at all times.

"It will look like David vs Goliath when we stand toe to toe - but remember David beat Goliath so hopefully I can beat Clarence Tillman," Ene Purcell said.

If Ene-Purcell can beat Clarence Tillman he will join elite company. World class Lucas Browne holds two wins over Tillman while Sonny Bill Williams was successful when the pair met in New Zealand.

"Over four rounds Tillman will be extremely dangerous," Smith said.

"He's proven himself in the longer fights but over 4 rounds you can expect him to come with a rush and place a lot of pressure on Herman.

"We've got to be ready for that.

"It will be an exciting four rounds and anything could happen.

"There will be plenty of leather being thrown when these two big men go head to head on October 31," Smith said.
