ANCAJAS CAN BEAT ARROYO - PI?OL By Lito delos Reyes PhilBoxing.com Wed, 23 Sep 2015 Ancajas. VETERAN boxing commentator Manny Pinol thinks that Filipino challenger Jerwin "Pretty Boy" Ancajas can beat current International Boxing Federation super flyweight champion McJoe Arroyo in their coming championship fight. ?Masyadong open yung Arroyo. He can be knockout by Ancajas,? Pinol told Ancajas? chief trainer Raides ?Nonoy? Neri on Monday during a lunch meeting held in Davao City for the revival of the ?Blow by Blow? TV show on ABC TV 5 next month. Pinol said Ancajas? chances of winning is very big. Neri described Ancajas as ?a very good boy who trains hard and has no attitude problems.? The 23-year old Ancajas, a southpaw, has a record of 23 wins, 15 knockouts and only one loss and no draw. But the undefeated Arroyo, an Olympian will still be picked as the favorite with a clean record of 17 wins and 8 knockouts in pro fights. He won the vacant IBF world super flyweight title via a 10th round stoppage against another Filipino Arthur ?King? Villanueva by a technical decision in the 10th round at the Don Haskins Convention Center in El Paso, Texas, USA. The decision, however, was a controversial after Villanueva suffered a cut and the ringside doctor recommended a stoppage. Negotiations are now on-going for the final date and venue tentatively set in November in Puerto Rico. "Dapat samahan talaga yan si Ancajas sa Puerto Rico," advised Pinol. Ancajas, a native of Panabo City, previously scored a 9th round knockout against Juan Purisima (11-7-1) last May 30 at the Lagao gym in General Santos City. Ancajas landed a solid body punch for the knockout in 1:57 of the 9th round. ? LITO DELOS REYES Click here to view a list of other articles written by Lito delos Reyes. |
