Purisima loses in PABA title-fight, but receives good news back home
By Lito delos Reyes PhilBoxing.com Wed, 23 Sep 2015

DAVAO CITY (PNA) Sept. 22 ? Former Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) super flyweight champion Jetly Purisima of General Santos City suffered another setback.
This time, Purisima (20-17-4) dropped a unanimous decision in his championship fight for the Pan Asian Boxing Association (PABA) super flyweight title against Chatpetch Sithmorseng of Thailand last Sept. 18 at the Bangkok University in Thonburi Campus, Bangkok.
All the three judges Yangsup Shim, Chalerm Prayadsab and Khaosai Galaxy scored, 120-108 all in favor of the Thai boxer.
The 27-year old Purisima, however, received a good news back home on Monday (Sept. 21) when he received already the full payment of his purse from his controversial fight in South Africa.
Purisima, a native of Surallah, South Cotabato lost to Sinethemba Magibisela on points at the Mdantsane Indoor Centre, Mdantsane, Eastern Cape last March 22 and came home with a double whammy.
The South African promoter also did not paid Purisima of his purse together with reigning IBO world champion Rey Loreto, who retained his title.
Former Gov. Manny Pinol, who accompanied them in South Africa, however, already gave Purisima P50,000 as a down payment for his P90,00 purse.
Pinol completed it by giving another check worth P40,000 to boxing manager Brian Purisima last Monday.
It was witnessed by Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Southern Mindanao officer-in-charge Arlene Olondriz during the meeting for the revival of the ?Blow by Blow?TV show.
?We are thankful for Gov. Manny Pinol for giving Purisima's purse from his own pocket. Even though the South African promoter still didn't pay them their purses,? said the 39-year old son of veteran boxing promoter Rey Golingan. ? LITO DELOS REYES
