IRON WILL TO RE-WRITE HISTORY: Will Young vs Matt Seden sanctioned for the Australian Super featherweight title

PhilBoxing.com

HISTORY BECKONS AS WILL YOUNG VS MATT SEDEN IS SANCTIONED FOR THE AUSTRALIAN TITLE ON OCT 31
Will Young chases his second Australian title.

IT'S OFFICIAL WILL YOUNG AND MATT SEDEN will face off for the Australian Super Featherweight title on October 31. Promoter Brendon Smith received notification overnight from the ANBF that the bout had been sanctioned for the vacant National belt. It presents Will Young with a chance to once again re-write Toowoomba boxing history.

If Young can defeat Seden he will become the Downs first ever Australian super feather weight champion and the first to ever win multiple Australian titles in different weight divisions.

"This is a huge honour for myself, Will Young said.

"I'm a big believer of respecting history and the deeds of those who came before me that's why it meant so much to me when i followed local legends like Merv Wockner and Gilbert Hooper in winning the Australian featherweight belt last year.

"Now I can create a piece of unique history if I can win the super feather weight belt next month.

"It will be a very proud moment if I can win this one," Young said.

In his bid for the belt Will Young needs to also overcome a bit of history.

On two occasions he has fought Matt Sedan and on both occasions Matt Sedan was successful.

In 2013 Seden won by majority decision in an eight round bout for the Queensland Featherweight title.

In 2012 the Brisbane fighter defeated Young again by majority decision but on that occasion in a four rounder.

"You don't look back you only look forward," Will Young said.

"What's in the past stays there I'm concentrating on what's in front of me.

"What's in front of me is the chance to win the Australian super featherweight title and to do that I need to beat Matt Seden.

"He might be two from two so far but this is the big one and this is the one I want to win.

"Credit to Matt Seden on winning the past two bouts - he's a tough customer, but I feel this time it will be different.

"I feel the fighter Matt Seden faces on October 31 will be a much better fighter than the one he beat in 2012 and 2013.

"In saying that I need to be better because I know Matt Seden will be a better fighter as well.

"It'll be a really good fight and I'll give it my all to win the title," Young said.

The Will Young vs Matt Seden Australian Super featherweight title bout is the main event on the TGW & Smithy Bring the Big Fights 11 card on October 31.

"This is a great fight for both boys," Brendon Smith said.

"They both come to fight so it will be a crowd pleaser.

"This card is coming together quickly and its shaping as an exciting night of boxing.

"We always want to bring the big fights to Toowoomba and that's exactly what Will Young vs Matt Seden is.

"Tickets went on sale this week so make sure you head into Smithy's TGW Gym and secure your seat for this big card and don't forget your halloween costumes," Smith said.

More exciting announcements about the October 31 card Smithy & TGW Bring the Big Fights 11 will be made in the coming weeks including another big challenge for the Herminator Herman Ene Purcell.

TICKETS ARE ON SALE FROM SMITHY'S TGW GYM.
