NBA -- Spurs win Aldridge lottery, Jordan bolts Clippers

CHARLOTTE -- Courted by several teams, including Portland where he spent the first nine years of his NBA career, free agent LaMarcus Aldridge thought long and hard and decided to become a San Antonio Spur.
"I'm happy to say I'm going home to Texas and will be a Spur," the 29-year old Aldridge announced via Twitter on Saturday.
The 6-foot-11, 240-pound power forward spent nine years in Portland where he became an All-Star four times. He averaged 23.4 points and 10.2 rebounds in 71 games last season and was lured by the Blazers, the Houston Rockets. the Dallas Mavericks, the New York Knicks, the L.A. Lakers and the Miami Heat.
In the end, it was the Spurs' championship pedigree and the chance to play alongside the great Tim Duncan that swayed the 7-year pro.
Aldridge's contract is worth $80 million for four years.
BYE BYE D.J. Out in Los Angeles, the Clippers lost their prized cente to free agency after DeAndre Jordan spurned them for the Dallas Mavericks.
The 6-foot-11, 265-pound Jordan normed 11.5 points, 15 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per in 82 regular season games last season. He was a tenacious rebounder and a high percentage shooter whose only wrinkle is his 39.7 percent clip at the free throw line.
Jordan joins a tough Mavericks team that already has Dirk Nowitzki, Chandler Parsons and the newly-acquired Wes Matthews of the Portalnd Trail Blazers.
'He will be our best player for many years to come," a very happy Mavs owner, Mark Cuban, told the L.A. Times.
