CASIMERO WANTS TO UNIFY FLYWEIGHT TITLES By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Sat, 20 Jun 2015 ![]() Filipino promoter Sammy Gello-ani who handles former IBF light flyweight champion and current mandatory challenger to the flyweight title held by Thailand?s Amnat Ruenroeng is determined to pursue his goal of unifying the flyweight titles and fighting the best in the 112 pound division. Gello-ani made the statement to the New Standard/boxingmirror.com even as Casimero, traimer Jhun Agrabio and their team left for Bangkok after a final day of training at the Roy Jones Jr gym in Las Vegas. The well known promoter/manager said Casimero had trained hard for his fight against Ruenroeng and had worked out a fight plan with trainer Agrabio to counter the hit-and-run tactics of Ruenroeng who is being trained by boxing manager/promoter and trainer Aljoe Jaro who has been working with the world champion in his preparation for his title fights. Aljoe Jaro told us he isn?t fazed by the fact that Casimero is a heavier puncher than Ruenroeng and indicated the Thai champion would bank on his superior technique in an effort to retain his title before a hometown crowd at the Hua Mark Indoor Stadium in Bangkok. Casimero has himself said the hometown crowds don?t bother him since he is used to fighting abroad against hostile fans as evidenced when he won the IBF light flyweight title with a ten round TKO over Luis Lazarte in Buenos Aires, Argentina that was marred by a post fight riot by Larazte?s supporters who threw chairs, bottles and other debris into the ring in the process injuring Gello-ani and Sean Gibbons and forcing Casimero to seek protection under the ring.
