By Mariano Cueva PhilBoxing.com Wed, 06 May 2015
CLEVELAND?The first quarter told the story. The Chicago Bulls offense was flawless, hitting on all cylinders. Mike Dunleavy went5 for 5 on the field, including 3 for 3 behind the arc. In contrast, the Cavaliers shot just 25% of their field goals, 5 out of 20, as the Bulls led by as many as 14 points in the first quarter.
The Cavs made a run in the third quarter, tied the game 51-all. Kyrie Irving, who led the Cavs with 30 points, made 10 straight points for his team at one stretch. But the Cavs could not stopped Rose and Gasol?s pick and roll. The Bulls went up by 15 points.
Derrick Rose led the Bulls with 25 points and Pau Gasol, playing an efficient game, added 21 points and 10 rebounds.
Bulls? Jimmy Butler added 20 points including a banked shot with 30 seconds to seal the game for Chicago.
Lebron James who had a double-double game, 19 points and 15 rebounds, made no excused for the loss.
?We all just have to play better,? James said, who had a two costly turnover in the last 3 minutes of the game.
As the time was wounding down, Rose banged shoulders with Cavaliers? Tristan Thompson and felt numbness in his arm. But after a few minutes the feeling in his arm came back. He said that he?s not concerned about it.
With the Chicago Bulls winning the first game of this series, they stole the home court advantage from the Cleveland Cavaliers.
