LAS VEGAS-Unbeaten Rey 'Boom Boom' Bautista has been installed as a 2-1 favorite to inflict the first defeat on Argentinian Sergio Manuel Medina when they clash here Saturday on the first televised portion of the pay-per-view 'The World Awaits' card.
Bautista has been picked as a -200 favorite to defeat Medina, while the Argentinian is a +160 underdog going into the fight, according to MGM's Sportsbook.
"This just means that Bautista has already made inroads into the American boxing fans' consciousness, and that's a good development," said Bautista's Filipino promoter Sammy 'Don King' Gello-ani when asked for comment yesterday.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN will air the life story of Bautista's meteoric rise from poverty in Candijay, Bohol in a special episode on its program 'Maalaala Mo Kaya' tonight hosted by Ms. Charo Santos-Concio.
