PhilBoxing.com

Concepcion.

Bernabe Concepcion who twice fought for the world featherweight title and lost and southpaw Al Sabaupan have handily beaten their Indonesian opponents in a fight card in Camarines Sur.

The 27 year old Concepcion scored a 2nd round knockout over Rasmanudin, taking the Indonesian out with a vicious left to the body while Sabaupan got off the canvas in the opening round to score a 3rd round knockout over Geisler AP in another scheduled ten round bout.

Concepcion was coming off a 3rd round technical decision against talented Filipino southpaw Eden Sonsona on Viva Sports top rated boxing show ?The Main Event? last July 26, 2014 while Rasmanudin had lost his last three fights before facing Concepcion.

The 27 year old Indonesian with a record of 18-8-3 with 9 knockouts had lost by a twelve round unanimous decision to Waldo Sabu last October 26, dropped an eight round decision to Thailand?s Mike Tawatchai on September 10, 2014 and suffered a 4th round knockout against China?s Qiu Xiao Jun in a clash for the WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental super bantamweight title on May 16, last year.

Boxrec.com records showed that Rasamudin had lost five of his last seven fights with one draw and one win over Filipino Robert Lerio in a six round bout in Australia.

Concepcion who has a record of 33-6-2 with 19 knockouts lost a golden opportunity to win the WBO world featherweight title when he had champion Steve Luevano in trouble but hit him after the bell had sounded and was disqualified by referee Jay Nady.

In his second attempt to win a world title Concepcion dropped Juan Manuel ?Juanma? Marquez at the end of the opening round but was himself dropped and suffered a 2nd round TKO on July 10, 2010.

Although he won the vacant WBC Continental Americas featherweight title with a ten round split decision over Aaron Garcia on October 27, 2011, Concepcion lost by a 7th round TKO to Mikey Garcia in a battle for the WBO NABO and NABF titles on March 10, 2012.

The 26 year old Sabaupan was dropped in the opening round by Geisler AP but quickly retaliated to score a 3rd round knockout to score his fourth win in a row after dropping a unanimous ten round decision to Ricardo Dominguez in Sinaloa, Mexico after losing by a 9th round TKO to Marvin Quintero in a IBF lightweight title eliminator on April 21, 2012.
