MORE DETERMINED AJ ?BAZOOKA? BANAL: ?I?M NOT FINISHED YET?

PhilBoxing.com

AJ ?Bazooka? Banal (31W-2L, 22KOs) is more determined to be considered worthy of getting another world title bout when he fights Thai Maxsaisai Sithsaithong (15W-5L, 4KOs) in an undercard match in the Bantamweight division for the world-renowned ?Pinoy Pride 28: History in the Making? on November 15,2014 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

The highly touted future world champion early in his career and former two-time world title challenger came out strong and positive during their public team sparring last October 25 in Fuente Circle, for his upcoming fight.

?The failures that I made in the past have made me a stronger boxer now. I?m not finished yet,? Banal responded when asked about his career plans. ?I will train hard so that, hopefully, I will be given another chance to fight for a world title,? he added.

Banal, having started his steps in the boxing scene under ALA Gym and turning pro when he was 16, have dominated his opponents as proven in his 22-knockout stint out of31 wins.

The 25-year old southpaw boxer from Cebu City got his first chance for a world title in 2008 against Rafael Concepcion of Panama for the interim WBA super flyweight title. He, however, failed after getting knocked out in the 10th round. Bouncing back to hunt for a world title, Banal, in his second chance against Thai Pungluang Sor Singyu for the vacant WBO bantamweight title, suffered a 9th round TKO in 2012.

Banal, who is known to fight with a good right and big left straights plus impressive power, footwork and speed ? is bracing for a starter to another world title contention on November 15. He assured boxing fans of his ?improvement and consistency?. And with a more determined heart, he is aiming at a third shot as a world title challenger.

The upcoming Pinoy Pride 28 will be headlined by Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes against Mexican Carlos Velarde. Milan ?El Metodico? Melindo will also face Mexico?s Saul Juarez in an IBF World Light Flyweight eliminator, ?Prince? Albert Pagara, in his defense for his IBF Intercontinental super bantamweight title against Mexican Raul Hirales, Merlito ?Tiger? Sabillo versus Indonesian Faris Nenggo, and Mark ?Magnifico? Magsayo versus South Korean Moon-Sun Jung.

?One fight at a time,? Banal responded when asked about his third chance for world title contention.
