OPPONENTS ANNOUNCED FOR NOVEMBER 13 LONG ISLAND BOXING EVENT AT THE SPACE AT WESTBURY

PhilBoxing.com

'RAZOR' RAINONE TO FACE CARL MCNICKLES FOR USBO WELTERWEIGHT TITLE IN MAIN EVENT

Greg Cohen Promotions (GCP) has announced several of the opponents for the Thursday, November 13, night of world-class professional boxing, produced by David Schuster's Winner Take All Productions and sponsored by Westbury Jeep Chrysler Dodge Long Island, at the luxurious The Space at Westbury, in Westbury, New York.

In the night's main event, Plainview, New York's Tommy "The Razor" Rainone (21-5-1, 4 KOs) will face Chicago's Carl "The Assassin" McNickles (8-5, 6 KOs) in a 10-round battle for the USBO Welterweight title.

A popular "all heart" warrior who doubles as an actor outside the ring, Rainone is riding a five-fight unbeaten streak, but McNickles will provide him a good test, as he has been in with several world-ranked contenders.

In the main supporting bout, Kildare, Ireland's "Hurricane" Dennis Hogan (19-0-1, 7 KOs) will face Venezuela's Jose "Bam Bam" Rodriguez-Berrio (21-6, 13 KOs) in a junior middleweight eight-rounder. The buzz around Hogan is that he is a star in the making and the fight against Rodriguez-Berrio will be his first outside his adopted homeland of Australia.

In a very special six-round, non-title women's super-fight between reigning champions, Brooklyn's WBO World Female Lightweight Champion, Amanda "The Real Deal" Serrano (21-1-1, 16 KOs), will take on Cleveland's WIBA World Featherweight champion Carla Torres (4-2).

On the undercard, undefeated heavyweight KO artist Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller (9-0-1, 9 KOs) will face Rodricka Ray (5-7-1, 2 KOs) in a heavyweight six-rounder; Eduardo Martinez (3-0, 1 KO) of Illinois will go against Millville, New Jersey's Joshua Reyes (5-3, 2 KOs) in a featherweight six; Rich "Brazil" Neves (7-1-1, 3 KOs) of New York will take on Philadelphia's Maurice Amaro (2-7, 1 KO) in a middleweight four; Westbury's own Dave Meloni (0-1,) will battle Felip Nazario (0-4) of the Bronx in a super featherweight four; Philadelphia lightweight Samuel Teah (4-1, 2 KOs) will go four against Brooklyn's Ian James (3-8-1, 1 KO). and junior middleweight Peter Dobson (1-0) will face Anton Williamson (1-1) of New Rochelle, New York in a four-rounder.

An opponent is still being sought for Chicago welterweight Kenneth Sims Jr (3-0, 2 KOs).

Tickets for Boxing at The Space at Westbury are priced at $150 golden ringside, $100 ringside and $50 general admission and are available at Ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster locations, thespaceatwestbury.com, The Space at Westbury Box Office: (516) 283-5566, or by calling the GCP office: (212) 851-6425.

The Space at Westbury was born as the Westbury Movie Theater on November 10, 1927, opening its doors to an audience that marveled at the beauty of its Tudor style inspired auditorium. The feature for opening night was "Hula" starring Clara Bow. On the stage, The University of Maryland Collegian's Band thrilled the audience with a spectacular performance. On Friday, November 11, 1927 to celebrate Armistice Day, "Beau Geste" starring Ronald Coleman was screened.

The Westbury Theatre was one of six theaters built by Salvatore Calderone in Nassau County, Long Island. The theater flourished as a single screen house until it was twinned in the late 1970's. As patronage decreased, the theater soon closed its doors. Eight years ago Cyrus Hakakian and his partners saved the Westbury Theater from demolition. After viewing the magnificent space, he was determined to preserve the grandeur of the original theater while re-purposing the facility to accommodate all aspects of contemporary entertainment. With the installation of state of the art lighting and sound systems combined with flexible seating plans, the Westbury Theater now enters a new chapter of its illustrious history as The Space at Westbury. The Space at Westbury is located at 250 Post Ave in Westbury, New York. For more information, visit thespaceatwestbury.com.

Westbury Jeep Chrysler Dodge Long Island is located at 100 Jericho Turnpike in Jericho, New York. For more information, visit westburyjeep.com or call (516) 333-2666.

On fight night, Doors open at 6 pm and the action starts at 7 pm. All bouts subject to change.
