Congratulations to Darleys Perez on Retaining his Interim WBA World Title PhilBoxing.com Thu, 30 Oct 2014 ORANGE, Calif. (Oct. 27, 2014) - Our congratulations go out to WBA Lightweight World Champion Darleys Perez (31-1, 20 KOs) for successfully defending his interim title against fellow Colombian Jaider Parra (23-2-1, 12 KOs) on Friday night. Perez showed a little bit of everything during his sixth round knockout win. His defense was sharp and his quick combinations overwhelmed Parra. Perez, who is currently the WBA No. 1 ranked challenger to present world champion Richar Abril, is now positioned for greater opportunities within the stacked 135 lb. division.
