NBA -- Smart play keys Celtics win over Nets

MIAMI - The Boston Celtics finished the preseason on a high note on Wednesday night by beating the visiting Brooklyn Nets, 100-86, at the TD Garden.
Rookie Marcus Smart accounted for 16 points and four rebounds as the Celtics wrapped up the exhibition season with a 5-3 slate. Smart, an Oklahoma State alum and the No.6 pick in last June's NBA draft, made five of eight field goals, including a pair of triples.
"Coach (Brad Stevens) has been telling me to be more aggressive, attack the rim and then take the 3 ball once you get warm," Smart told NBA.com.
Boston, which pulled away with a 33-19 second quarter spurt, also got a huge lift from Jared Sulinger's 15 points and 17 rebounds while Gerald Wallace chipped in 12. Tyler Zeller finished with 11 and nine boards.
Center Mason Plumlee and Mirza Teletovic combined for 30 points and 18 rebounds. Cory Jefferson had 11 points but the Nets couldn't overcome a poor shooting night -- 29 of 75 from the field, including just six of 22 from 3-point range.(SA)
