Prominent Los Angeles entrepreneur Michael Schiavone and former youngest World Boxing Association (WBA) champion boxer Morris East are collaborating to work with young up and coming Filipino boxers.

They are donating new boxing gloves and mouthpieces to improve the training gear for many fighters. Morris and Michael are excited to see the next generation who will continue the legacy of great fighters from the Philippines.

As inspiration especially for promising Filipino fighters, Schiavone is producing a Documentary film on the life of Morris East, the youngest Filipino boxer to win a world boxing championship at the age of 19 years old. Morris achieved the feat in 1992 when he knocked out then defending WBA lightweight champion Akinobu Hiranaka, the conqueror of the dreaded Puerto Rican Edwin Rosario, in Japan.

East, now a Las Vegas based boxing manager and trainer/consultant who has previously helped train current world champions Nonito Donaire, Jonriel Casimero, Devin Haney and ex world titlist Zab Judah.
