Our very own Kenneth Albino of Bangar, La Union, pulled off a stunning upset this Sunday, August 16, handing popular Japanese Kento "Prince" Hatanaka a 5th round TKO defeat in Aichi, Japan!
The strong Albino (8-3-1, 5 KOS) overpowered the more experienced Hatanaka (18-2, 12 KOs), claiming a much-rewarding non-title victory.
Even weighing about a kilo lighter, the brave 22-year-old Filipino showed true Laban spirit — pressing forward with thunderous combinations that wore down the hometown fighter.
The referee waved it off at 56 seconds of Round 5, and the young warrior from La Union had pulled off the impossible! 👍
This sweet victory erases the sting of his controversial draw in Indonesia last February.
This time, against all odds, Albino proved that Filipino heart beats strongest when the fight is hardest! Congratulations, Kenneth!
