Aguelo.

Maasin's pride Adones Aguelo (26-14-2, 18KOs) will defend his Asian Boxing Federation super featherweight title against Cebuano challenger Rodel Wenceslao (11-12-1, 4KOs) from Mandaue City before his hometown fans tonight at the Maasin City Sports Complex in Southern Leyte.

It will be Aguelo's third defense of the belt he seized with an eighth round stoppage of Bonnie Makiling on September 20, 2014 at the Talisay City Sports Complex.

The 28-year-old Aguelo is coming off back-to-back wins by knockout against Bryan Samson and Richard Betos, while Wenceslao, the reigning PBF super lightweight champion, lost by decision to Adones Cabalquinto in his previous match last June 4 at the Almendras Gym in Davao City.

In the supporting bouts of the slambang event spearheaded by the Maasin City LGU under the dynamic leadership of Mayor Maloney L. Samaco, who regularly writes columns and articles on Philboxing.com, featherweight Anthony Sabalde of Cebu City will slug it out with Anthony Galigao of Bohol, while super flyweight Elias Joaquino of Siargao, Surigao del Norte will take on Tantan Recablanca of Bohol.

Aguelo, Sabalde and Joaquino are all fighting under the aegis of Thai boxing patron Naris Singwangcha, who co-promotes the card with RWS Promotions International of Cebuano topnotch promoter Rex "Wakee" Salud.
