NBA -- Knicks tame Bulls with third quarter barrage

CHICAGO -- The New York Knicks exploded with 35 third quarter points to beat the Chicago Bulls, 115-107 ​on Wednesday night ​at the United Center.

Kristaps Porzingis scored 29 ​points and 10 rebounds ​for New York while Carmelo Anthony had 24​ to orchestrate the charge​. Robin Lopex a​dded 11 points and 13 boards while Arron Afflalo ​pitched in 12 points and seven dimes. The win snapped the Knicks' 3-game slide, bumping the team's modest record to 29-43.

​"The ball was moving and I had some pretty good looks," Porzingis told NBA.com after shooting 3-of-6 form long distance and tying a personal season-high with 29 markers. The Knicks made 45 of 87 field goals and 14 of 25 triples.

​Chicago got 35 points from Nikola Mirotic​, who nailed nine triples that tied a franchise record. Derrick Rose contributed 21 points and four assists but Jimmy Butler, easing slowly back from a strained knee, managed only seven points with eight assists.

​The Bulls dropped to 9th place in the East​urn Conference​ while the Knicks improved to 29-43.
