IBF mandatory challenger Florante Condes had his final sparring yesterday, where he did four rounds with Roberto Lerio, and he now looks forward to his 12-round showdown with tough and shifty IBF minimumweight kingpin Muhammad Rachman.
Condes showed tremendous power and conditioning in the four-round session, as bantamweight Roberto Lerio refused to continue fighting in the fourth round after a body shot by Condes.
"Pang-apat na round tumalikod na. Tinamaan sa katawan ayaw na. Di na daw kaya," (In the fourth round he turned his back. He said no more after being hit in the body. He said he had enough)said Condes' manager Aljoe Jaro, who supervised the final sparring session.
"Di pa kami mag light training. Heavy pa rin kami. Dun ka kami sa Jakarta mag light training. Takbo nami malayo pa rin," (We're not yet doing light training. We will do that in Jakarta. We still do long runs) Jaro added, noting that Team Condes is flying to the Indonesian capital on Monday.
Rachman, meanwhile, has indicated that with Allah's help, he can take care of Condes, a devastating power puncher known as 'The Little Pacquiao.'
