The Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame has announced that it will present five special awards during its 14th Annual Induction Gala Weekend on August 14 and 15 at The Orleans Hotel and Casino, recognizing the dedication, commitment, and leadership of individuals both inside and outside the ring.
The first honorees of this inaugural year are: Bill "Uncle Bill" Caplan, winner of the "Uncle Bill" Award; Martha Vargas, winner of the Yo Adrian Award; Judge Dave Moretti, winner of the Marc of Distinction Award; Larry Wade, winner of the President's Pillar of Excellence Award; and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), winner of the Trailblazer Award.
The awards will be presented during the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for the Classes of 2025 and 2026.
These special Boxing Hall of Fame awards are established to recognize trainers, families, judges, referees, activists, and other individuals who have made significant contributions to world boxing.
"The Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame is dedicated to preserving, promoting, and celebrating the best of boxing history. We seek to recognize those behind the scenes, away from the ring and the spotlight, but whose work strengthens boxing as a great sport," said Executive Director Michelle Corrales-Lewis.
