INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana Pacers suffered their second straight defeat in this young season, losing to the Memphis Grizzlies, 112-103, on Thursday night at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The 0-2 Pacers, who lost to the Toronto Raptors, 106-99, last Wednesday night, were on pace to right the ship when they led the Grizzlies, 29-20, after one quarter and 75-73 entering the fourth quarter.
But the Pacers couldn't hold it together in the final 12 minutes where they were outscored 39-28.
Marc Gasol had 20 and eight rebounds for the Grizzlies and point guard Mike Conley submitted 13 points and 10 assists as Memphis improved to 1-1 after losing their season opener by 30 points at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
Beno Udrih also had 13 while Zach Randolph finished with 11 for Memphis.
"Last night, we got our butts whipped, so guys came out with a lot more enegry, "Randolph said.
George Hill led the Pacers with 20 while Paul George had 18 and eight rebounds.
