DUEL IN DUBAI COMPLETE CAST BARED

PhilBoxing.com

Foreign and Dubai-based boxers will spice up the three undercard matches on PINOY PRIDE?S international debut this September 5.

Larry Abarra, a Filipino who fights out of the Round 10 Boxing Club of Dubai, will face Chatpayak Nuengkawkawhok of Thailand in a four round superbantamweight bout.

Abarra, who makes his living as a trainer in Dubai, was featured in an article by Ali Khaled posted last April on the website of The National. The 27 year old Abarra said that he started as an amateur in Baguio City and joined the Philippine national team for two years, between 2008 and 2009, and turned pro in 2010. He cites his professional fight record with three wins, including a first-round knockout, and two losses on points. In the said article, Abarra was quoted as saying that he had the experience of working with Manny Pacquiao during one of his training stints in Baguio.

Kizito Deo of Uganda will be pitted against Anusher Abdullaev of Uzbekistan in a four round welterweight clash. Deo is also from the Round10 Boxing Club-Dubai while Abdullaev is from EMD Fitness-Dubai.

Junior welterweights Mohammad Akram of Syria and Thailand?s Kong Windy Sports will fight in another four rounder. Akram is also based in Dubai?s Round 10 Boxing Club.

One of the topics discussed during the press launching of DUEL IN DUBAI here in Cebu last month was ALA Promotions? desire to also promote local boxers in Dubai as part of their effort to build an audience in that part of the world. The Filipino overseas workers in that city are also expected to support the Pinoy boxers.

PINOY PRIDE 27: DUEL IN DUBAI will feature three boxers from the ALA Gym. The event will be headlined by Genesis ?Azukal? Servania , who will defend his WBO Intercontinental superbantamweight title against Jose ?Matador? Cabrera of Mexico.

Making a return to Dubai will be Rey ?BoomBoom? Bautista, who will fight Juan Jose ?Piquet? Martinez in a ten round non-title superfeatherweight bout.Four years ago,Bautista knocked out Thai Saichon Sotornpitak in six rounds in a fight held at The Lodge.

?King? Arthur Villanueva aims to win another belt ? the vacant IBF International jr. bantamweight title - against Henry ?El Crespo? Maldonado of Nicaragua.

The fights will be held at the Dubai World Trade Center.
