PUERTO RICAN STAR DULORME READY TO STEP UP IF ALGIERI-PACQUIAO FIGHT DOESN?T PUSH THROUGH By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Wed, 16 Jul 2014 Puerto Rican star and world title contender Thomas Dulorme who has an impressive record of 21-1 with 14 knockouts, is ready to step up if for some reason the planned WBO welterweight title defense of Manny Pacquiao against WBO junior welterweight champion Chris Algieri doesn?t push through. There have been reports that Algieri who won the title with a twelve round split decision win over Pacquiao?s former sparring partner Ruslan Provodnikov wasn?t happy with the Top Rank offer of $1.5 million to move up in weight and fight Pacquiao on November 22 in Macau and indicated he believes he is worth more. However, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told the Manila Standard/Viva Sports that Algieri and his promoter ?had a little dispute as to who got what from what we offered, but I think they are getting that resolved today and then it will be full speed ahead.? Dulorme who is ranked No. 2 by the WBA, No. 3 by the WBC, No. 4 by the IBF and No. 8 by the WBO in the junior welterweight division said ?I am available and willing to fight the best.? He said Manny Pacquiao ?may still be looking for an opponent in November and if that?s the case, I?m ready.? Dulorme claimed he was supposed to fight Provodnikov but he was rejected by the Russian?s team who instead accepted the fight with Algieri. The Puerto Rican said he will keep training hard at the Oxnard Gym of Robert Garcia who he said believes in his talent and that they are ?hoping for a great opportunity yo show the boxing world what I am made of.? Promoter Gary Shaw who worked with Pacquiao for a short while said Dulorme ?is well deserving of a Pacquiao fight being that he is highly ranked across the board.? Shaw said Pacquiao vs Dulorme ?would be a sensational bout that the fans would love to ee. I know Dulorme is up for the challenge so we?ll see what we can do to make it happen.? Dulorme captured the North Ameruican Boxing Federation 140 pound title when he won by a unanimous decision over former undefeated Karimn Mayfiekd (18-1-1, 11 KO?s) last March 29.
