ALBERT PAGARA GETS BIG TEST AGAINST MEXICAN WARRIOR By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Tue, 17 Jun 2014 ?Prince? Albert Pagara will get his boxing royalty tested, as he faces the first Mexican opponent of his promising career. Fighting alongside his older brother, Jason ?El Nino? Pagara, they star in Pinoy Pride 26: ?Fists of the Future? against a pair of tough Mexican fighters. Yes, tough Mexican fighters, as they almost always are. Which is why this is such a tough test for the ?little? brother. Against Hugo Partida, the 20-year old will be fighting for the IBF Intercontinental Jr. Featherweight title. Ranked no. 14 by the WBC, Partida holds a record of 21-4, with 16 KOs. Pagara is fighting in the town where he resides, at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino in Cebu City, where most of his wins occurred. His professional record stands at 20-0, with 14 KOs. Pagara is also a ?highly-regarded amateur?, according to his promoter and President CEO of ALA Promotions, Michael Aldeguer. Aldeguer also said that as the promotional company was setting up a gym in California, they had Pagara?s brother, Jason, in mind because ?he will need exposure especially in terms of sparring abroad. For his improvement and growth as a boxer, he will need to spar against tough Mexicans.? The same is true for the younger Pagara. An exemplary amateur boxer with reportedly no record of defeat in more than 400 fights and 10 gold medals to his credit, he turned pro at the age of 17 in 2011. So far as a pro, he has lived up to his hype as he still possesses that undefeated standing. More challenges await him as he climbs up the pro ranks. ?This is the test that he has been waiting for.?
