PURISIMA CRUSHED BY GONZALEZ IN THREE ROUNDS

The Philippines' Juan Purisima was totally outclassed and crushed in three rounds by unbeaten former WBA minimum weight and light flyweight champion Roman Gonzalez of Nicaragua in a supporting bout of a WBC world title double-header in Tokyo.
Hall of Fame media man and matchmaker Joe Koizumi reported that Gozalez ?battered the game Filipino both upstairs and downstairs dropping him on his knees midway in round two.?
Gonzalez who is aiming for a flyweight title shot, went after the 22 year old Purisima forcing referee Yuki Fukuchi to call a halt to the bout at 1:20 of the 3rd round.
The win moves Gonzalez to 38-0 with 32 knockouts while Purisima drops to 11-4-1 with 4 knockouts.
