"BRADLEY WON'T KNOW WHAT WILL HIT HIM" - PACQUIAO

PhilBoxing.com

LOS ANGELES - Filipino World Boxing Organization welterweight challenger Manny Pacquiao is looking forward to applying the finishing touches in his preparation to reclaim the 147-pound belt from unbeaten American tormentor Timothy Bradley who he will be meeting anew April 12 (April 13 in Manila) at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.

"As I have been saying, I want to bring back the championship to the Philippines and I'm ready to do that," Pacquiao, who lost the title on a contested split decision to the same man two years ago, reiterated Friday, two days before capping a three-week second leg of his training camp at the Wild Card Gym here.

Informed that Bradley, who had just held his media workout last Thursday, had shown vast improvement since they last fought in June of 2012, Pacquiao had this to say," Good, meaning we'll be giving boxing fans a good fight. He's faster now they said. He should be because I will be throwing him with so many punches from all angles, he wouldn't know what hit him."

The entire Team Pacquiao will be motoring in a convoy to Las Vegas in Nevada Monday after the last training session here.

Going back to his about to end build up program, he said, "Everything went perfect in the camp which we started in General Santos City some two months ago and I believe we have covered all bases in our training regimen, from the strength and conditioning aspects, to sparring, to all the things we need to do," the Pacman noted after Friday's workout.

The day started with the normal roadwork from his mansion at Plymouth Street inside the posh Larchmont Village to the hilly Griffith Park, capped by doing the mitts with chief trainer Freddie Roach, the usual visit to the bags and speed ball and conditioning exercises.

"Okay na talaga lahat, except that I will be missing my family, my four children and, especially Jinkee, who for the first time since I set my foot in the U.S. won't be around to watch me fight in usual corner of the arena," the 35-year-old lawmaker representing the lone district of Sarangani in the Lower House, lamented.

The former world's pound-for-pound best, who besides aiming to recapture the crown is also seeking to regain the top spot in the P4P ranking, added though that the absence of his pregnant-heavy Sarangani Vice-Governor wife won't affect him when he climb atop the ring comes fight night.

Vice Gov. Jinkee s not allowed to travel as she is scheduled to give birth to their fifth child (next to Emmanuel, Michael, Princess and Queenie), scanned to be a boy, who both she and Pacquaio agreed to be christened Israel.

"Ma-mi-miss ko lang siya (Jinkee) kasi nga first time ko siyang di makikita sa ringside the past 12 years, " he assured in reference to his first bout in the U.S. against Lehlohonolo Ledwaba, whom he knocked out in six rounds in 2001 to wrest the super-bantamweight title. Yung children ko won't be in the fight, too, because of their studies although sanay na ako doon dahil bihira din naman silang manood ng laban ko. Kapag wala lang school."

Mother Dionisia though will be coming to watch the fight along with brother, ex-fighter himself Bobby, who was with the team when it arrived here. Pacquiao was not also sure whether father Rosalio, who was in perfect attendance in at least his last 10 fights overseas, including his destruction of Brandon Rios in Macau, last November, will be coming or not.
