SAN FRANCISCO -- The Los Angeles Clippers overcame 19 turnovers and a 12-point deficit to beat the Dallas Mavericks, 109-103, Thursday night at the American Airlines Center.
The Clippers ended the game on a 16-5 run, sending the 43-30 Mavericks plummeting to 9th place in the race for eight playoff spots in the Western Conference. The Mavs are a half-game behind the 43-29 Phoenix Suns, who sit at No.8.
After being held to 2 points by the New Orleans Pelicans in his previous outing, Paul had an MVP-type game with 31 points and 9 assists. Paul sank 9-of-18 field goals and Blake Griffin added 18 and 13 boards.
DeAndre Jordan also had a big night for the Clips with 16 and 15 boards while Jamal Crawford added 14. The Clippers surged ahead in the Pacific Division with a 51-22 record.
The Mavs got 23 from Vince Carter and 21 from Dirk Nowitzki but Monta Ellis was held to 12 points and missed 15 of 19 field goals. (JSM)
